Detector
Detector follows the story of newly graduated psychologist Daniel Jor, played by Mads Ousdal. Daniel’s father died before he was born, and his mother cannot let go of her position in Daniel’s life. Oblivious to the fact that he is rapidly approaching thirty, she insists he live at home with her. When not trying to escape from his mother’s suffocating grip, Daniel and his best friend Ronny enjoy their shared hobby – getting under the surface of things with metal detectors. One day, they find a necklace inscribed with the name "Janne", and Daniel’s life changes direction. Soon, he discovers that the map doesn’t quite match the territory, both where love and his own past are concerned. Still waters run deeper than expected.
Director Pål Jackman has made several shorts and advertising films. He received attention for his first short film, “Benny” – a playful and easygoing film in both style and content.
