The Museum of Longing and Failure (MOLAF) is a collecting entity established in Bergen by the Canadian artists Andrew Taggart and Chloe Lewis in 2010. The MOLAF takes shape through a sustained conversation with living artists and collectives, whose contributed sculptural works form the basis of ongoing installations, interventions, publications, and, more recently, the production of new forms.
To date, the MOLAF has presented the work of over eighty artists and has appeared internationally through cooperations with institutions such as Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; TENT, Rotterdam; Cricoteka, Kraków; Parks Canada, Yukon; the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York City; and the Factory for Art and Design, Copenhagen. For its nineteenth iteration, the MOLAF returns to Bergen with an exhibition across two venues – USF and HKS – featuring a new series of object studies in addition to new sculptures by Salwa Aleryani, Sif Ankergård, Roula Partheniou, Jasmine Reimer, and Ilija Wyller.
